That experience is also reflected in Daiwa House’s Australian portfolio, spanning mixed-use developments, masterplanned communities, build-to-rent and housing. In February 2018, Daiwa House Australia acquired a 100 per cent interest in the Rawson Group. Established in 1978, Rawson Group has grown from its beginnings in country NSW to become one of the largest and most trusted builders and land developers across NSW and the ACT.
Buying a new home or land is one of the biggest financial decisions people will make. While location, lifestyle and price all play an important role, buyers are also increasingly asking: who is behind the development, and do they have the experience and capability to deliver?
Because when people choose a home, they are choosing more than a property. They are choosing a community and a place where their future will unfold. At The Hills of Carmel, that confidence is built from the ground up, backed by Daiwa House Australia, its partnership with Odakyu Australia, a demonstrated track record in Australia, and a locally based team committed to delivering the community for the long term.
Global Experience, with a Long-term Australian Commitment
Masterplanned communities take years to create. Turning a vision into a thriving community requires more than ambition. It requires experience, capability and a long-term commitment to seeing that vision become reality.
Founded in Japan in 1955, Daiwa House brings more than 70 years of experience across residential, commercial and property development. Today, the Daiwa House Group operates across 27 countries and regions, with more than 81,100 employees globally and experience spanning housing, rental accommodation, commercial facilities, logistics, hotels and renewable energy.
Since entering Australia in 2014, Daiwa House has delivered approximately 2,400 homes.
A Proven Track Record in Australia
That experience is also reflected in Daiwa House’s Australian portfolio, spanning mixed-use developments, masterplanned communities, build-to-rent and housing.
In February 2018, Daiwa House Australia acquired a 100 per cent interest in the Rawson Group. Established in 1978, Rawson Group has grown from its beginnings in country NSW to become one of the largest and most trusted builders and land developers across NSW and the ACT.
Each project reflects a different development environment and scale, but together they demonstrate the experience behind Daiwa House’s approach: creating places designed around the people who will ultimately live in them.
Turning the Vision for
The Hills of Carmel into Reality
Since 2018, Daiwa House, in partnership with Odakyu Australia, has been delivering The Hills of Carmel, an 89-hectare land subdivision project in Box Hill, within Sydney’s growing North West Growth Corridor.
Once complete, the community will deliver 1,610 residential lots.
But the vision has always extended beyond the delivery of homes and land. The Hills of Carmel has been planned as a connected community, bringing together homes, retail, education and open spaces to support the changing needs of residents and create the foundations for people to build their lives.
The Partnership
Behind the Community
The Hills of Carmel is backed by the experience of both Daiwa House and Odakyu Australia, whose partnership began in 2018. Founded in 1923, Odakyu has more than a century of experience in community development. Beginning with railway operations in Tokyo, the organisation has since expanded across transportation, real estate and retail.
Together, Daiwa House and Odakyu Australia bring global development expertise, financial strength and decades of experience in creating communities, providing the foundation behind The Hills of Carmel.
Experience Brought to Life By People
Global experience provides a strong foundation, but communities are ultimately delivered by the people responsible for bringing them to life. The Hills of Carmel is supported by a locally based team with experience across development, engineering, commercial and project management, sales and marketing. Collectively, key members of the Daiwa House Australia team bring more than 80 years of combined experience to the project, alongside experienced leadership from Odakyu Australia.
This combination of global knowledge, Australian experience and local accountability supports the delivery of The Hills of Carmel with an understanding that creating a successful community is about more than delivering infrastructure and homes. It is about creating a place where people can establish connections, access the services they need and feel a genuine sense of belonging.
